Changing the Way Real Estate is Sold

What You Should Know About Fees

  • The MLS® System has NEVER dictated the fees REALTORS® can charge, nor will they ever dictate these fees. Real estate fees are determined by the real estate Broker.
  • REALTORS® cannot prejudice a home based on the fees being offered. To even suggest such is anti-competitive. REALTORS® have a fiduciary duty to act in their clients best interests, not their own, failing to do so can result in disciplinary actions and potentially the loss of their client and reputation.
  • In 2011 SellerInvite was the first fully licensed real estate company in Canada to offer sellers the option to pay a fee upon listing or commission when the home sells.

What You Should Know About Selling By Owner

  • In 2008 SellerInvite was the first fully licensed real estate company in Canada to allow sellers listed on the MLS® System the opportunity to sell by owner and the freedom to choose the manner in which they sold their home.
  • In December of 2010, the Canadian Real Estate Association under pressure from the Competition Bureau, made a change that allowed Real Estate Brokers to sell just MLS® exposure separate from their REALTOR® services. This change allowed For-Sale-By-Owner companies to now offer MLS as an additional service but also as an additional cost to the seller.
